The Sidi Charger is what would be classed as a mid range boot in the Sidi range. This is not to say the quality of the boots developed by manufacturer is any way average though. Be certain that if your purchasing any Sidi related boot, they will be of outstanding quality.
The Sidi Charger Boots uses a mixture of a split grain along side the full grain leather with TPU inserts. This may seem somewhat technical, but in essence it means that they are made from the highest quality materials. This is extremely important as it determines the durability of the boot as a whole.
An important part of any boot is the quality of the water proofing. These particular boots use a Teflon breathable lining, which ensures that any water that comes over the top of the boot will not be retained. Also it means it will absorb and dry out a lot quicker than most other boots.
The buckle system, whilst extremely complicated, ensures that the boots fit extremely tight to the leg, offering maximum support. Additional support comes from the rear support system, which is something that has been developed on the likes of the Crossfire and Verterbra.
Many people choose to buy the likes of the Thor Quadrant. Whilst I’ll go ahead and say that Thor Quadrant Boots are an exceptionally good buy, they don’t offer the comfort and durability of Sidi Charger Boots, they are in a different league. Let’s be honest, they are not cheap. The RRP is nearly $400 but they can be found on eBay and Amazon for a lot less.
The toe is protected by a steel cap while the sole is anti slip rubber with a removable arch support.
